Casino Bets Guide

Minimum and Maximum Bets

  1. The casino operator will determine the minimum and maximum betting limits at each gaming table, depending on any directions issued by the Authority.

  2. The minimum and maximum betting limits fitting a table shall be displayed on a sign at the table. Unless displayed on the sign, bets are not required to be made in multiples of the minimum.

  3. No minimum table betting limit shall be raised, nor shall any maximum table bet limit be reduced, unless:

    a sign indicating the new limit or limits and the expected time of change has been displayed at the table for at least 20 minutes before the time of the change; or

    all players at the table agree to the change; or 

    the table is being opened for gaming for the first time in a gaming day; or 

    there is no gaming activity taking place at the table. 

  4. The casino operator may let a player to bet in excess of the maximum table bet limit, provided that a sign displaying the minimum and maximum bet limits for that player is placed on an appropriate area of the table.

  5. The casino operator may require that bets be placed in increments of a specific amount, which amount shall not exceed the minimum table bet limit. The amount of any such increment shall be denoted at the table on the sign on which the minimum and maximum bet table limits are displayed.  

  6. No bet can be made or accepted in connection with any game if:

    the bet is not absolutely permitted by the rules of the game; or 

    the bet does not comply with the allowed bet limits applying to the player making the bet and indicated on the sign displayed in accordance with rule 2 or rule 4, as the case may be; or

    partnership between players, with a view to exceeding any maximum betting limit, has happened; or

    the bet does not comply with any specified betting level applying to the player making the bet and set out in the rules of the game.

  7. Where a bet is unintentionally made and accepted in violation of rule 6, it shall:

    if less than the allowed minimum be regarded as valid once only in respect of the player but otherwise shall be void;

    if in excess of the allowed maximum be void to the extent of such excess.

  8. All bets shall be made using chips that are approved by the Authority for use in the game. The Authority may approve the use of specific types of chip in a casino for specific purposes, for example table games generally, 1 or more particular table games, keno, gaming machines, or a mixture of any or all of the above. 

  9. A bet (other than a bet on the Caribbean Stud Poker jackpot) may be refused before a hand, round, spin or roll if, in the event of the player winning, it would not be possible to pay the exact amount of the winnings in chips. This rule shall not apply to bets for non-monetary prizes.

  10. The casino operator may restrict a player to making bets on one gaming table at any one time.
     

 Payment of Winning Bets
 
All bets placed with a casino operator shall be paid, taken or disposed of by the casino operator strictly according to the applicable rules. A player's repayment to winnings shall be governed by and determined according to the rules, regardless any overpayment by the casino operator, and the casino operator shall be authorized to recover any such overpayment.

The casino operator have to ensure that all winning bets are paid in chips, unless the rules of the game or approved procedures specifically permit payment by other means.

Depending on the application of any rule or approved procedure permitting the payment of winnings otherwise than by means of chips, where it is not possible to pay the exact amount of winnings in chips, the winnings have to be increased to the next highest amount in which payment can be made in chips.
 

Unclaimed Bets and Winnings
 
Players are responsible for claiming and collecting bets and winnings due to them in accordance with these rules. 

Where a bet is, or winnings are, not collected by the player the casino operator shall hold and dispose of it or them in accordance with approved procedures.
